Turn Left, Turn Right

Remember that book I was talking about a few months ago, "A Chance Of Sunshine"? I lost the book. I also mentioned that the book was adapted into the big screen, under the title "Turn Left, Turn Right". Guess what? After a few months, I managed to find a DVD copy of the movie in www.ebay.ph. Woooohoooo!!! It cost me P135 (shipping included), but hey, the feeling of finding your holy grail: Priceless! Major thanks to Jovie Lim... a very amazing ebay seller with lots of good korean/ asian titles.

Sigh, now I have to find a copy of the book again.

Chasing Cars

Snow Patrol's chasing cars is on my playlist lately. Here's a tribute image and the lyrics. :)

Chasing Cars

We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
they're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

The February 2007 Playlist

Lots of music in my iPod uploaded last January, thanks to Ronnie! Here's the list in order!

1. Cattski - Obviously Blind (brilliant band, amazing song, if I had a credit card, I'll order their EP on their website)
2. Narda - Kusina (KaTwo is hot, I want to be her stalker - request niya yun in the pages of FHM)
3. Narda - Pantalon (great song from the Formica album)
4. Texas - Carnival Girl (heard this song on MTV, hunted it, found it after a long time)
5. SinoSikat? - Turning My Safety Off (major thanks to Ronnie, for finding this song)
6. Kasabian - Processed Beats (Their sound is a mix of U2 with a dash of Kula Shaker)
7. Artful Dodger - TwentyFourSeven (cool lounge music, we used it as a peg for one of our TV ads)
8. Shifting Sands - Siya Ay 'Di Ang Iyong Lahat (baduy yung song, pero 'di sikat)
9. Juana - Pansinin Mo (ok pala 'to, harhar)
10. ChiliTees - Sama Na (perpetually in my playlist, para kang kinakantahan ng mapang-akit na babae)

Guilty Pleasure of the Month: Someday by Nina.
Baduy, baduy, baduy, bakla, bading, and yet it found its way on my playlist. I'm such a softie.
Food Addiction of the Month: Sumo Wafer Stick Peanut Butter Flavor
Ang sarap! How could a non-URC food be so delicious and addicting? Other Sumo flavors suck though (IMO, don't let it affect you from trying it)
Addiction of the Month, kahit January Pokemon Ruby
Ang sarap ng POKE! POKEMON! Gotta catch them all! Napupuyat ako sa kapipindot ng POKEmon! Argh - kailangang makuha ko si RayQuaza tsaka yung mga fossils. Argh! Nadelete ng anak ko yung saved game ko! Nyargh! Back to square 1! Sayang yung level 98 namin na Blaziken!

...And the Globe Bashing Begins.

Just in case you're wondering (whoever is reading this), I do read other people's blogs. Just yesterday (Feb. 1, 2007), the new Globe Unlimited Text rates came out - and boy, did it make waves. But not in a positive way. People were complaining, my wife was shocked, my Globe friends were furious, the whole texting community was rattled and sent out text barrages to stop patronizing Globe and whatever service they came. Heck, even my wife's suki (because she has this loading station business) were astonished because of this sudden move from Globe.

Of course, I was not surprised with the new rates because we knew it beforehand, after all, we, the ad agency are tasked to break the news (whether good or bad) to the masses. And we have to deliver the news in good taste. Even during the production of the print ad, people who were using Unlimitxt regularly were already at dismay (most of them are the Unlimitxt50 subscribers). I don't really use Unlimitxt service regularly. I just use it, whenever I would be on a "texting marathon" which only lasts for about 3 or 4 hours. Therefore, I fall on the Unlimitxt15 category - the one day Unlimitxters.

In a way, this NightShift and Dayshift gig might work. Most advantageous would probably be the NightShift, where you'll only pay 10 bucks for a 10pm to 7:59 am chat. I only wish Globe made the Nightshift time slot earlier, starting from at least 7pm. Oh, well, there'll alway be Unlimited Text All Day for 20 bucks, just a P5 increase from the P15 I got used to. If you think about it, no one can really text 24 hours straight, you'll have to rest in between. Unless you're a TEXTAHOLIC (if such person exists).

Of course, my only real despair is that some of the chickens I designed for the print ad were removed. Bah, I spent hours just drawing them, and they were scrapped. Also scrapped are his sunglasses and the sun from the original compre. On the brighter side, at least I can use those extra chickens in the pages of Saranggola Magazine.

Just my 2 pesos. I don't think you need to boycott something just because their pricing scheme increased. If we do boycott everything that raised their price, we probably would'nt be commuting, putting gas in our cars, or even texting. Texting used to be free you know.

Then again, you can't really please anyone.
